WealthBriefing, a leading publisher and conference organiser focussed on wealth management, private banking and family offices (“Wealth Management Sector”), held its MiFID2 Summit conference at the Savoy Hotel in London on 24th May.
The Summit focussed on various key areas for investors, the Wealth Management Sectors and fund managers. The main speaker setting the status and tone of the conference was Stephen Hanks, who is the FCA’s Manager of MiFID Coordination (UK regulator). EOS IM was pleased to actively participate in the Summit, represented by Simon Elvidge, on the Panel discussing Investor Protection under MiFID2, titled “Riding the Wave of the Financial Tsunami: New age Investor Protection”. The Roundtable Panel was chaired by the Group Editor of WealthBriefing (Tom Burroughes) and included representatives from EY, Kleinwort Hambros and Six Financial Information.
As a key note Roundtable Panel, it discussed and advised on the areas concerning investor protection, including: the requirements around the suitability of investments and how firms should best deliver these to the benefit of the investors, advice and information firms are will be required to gather and to provide, etc.
The Roundtable Panel was successfully concluded with a lively and productive question and answer session with the audience.
